R.F: I think your story is really interesting and I definately agree you should re dump your ex. LOL. What she's saying about all these caring people seems to be a fib... I have found that people in most congregations only pretend to care. In reality it seems that they are too busy preaching and teaching to care and share. Just be pleasant with those that actually do come and visit. Alot of the time they say the're coming and they don't even make it to your house unless they are in service and need to use your washroom. You know how it is... It's really messed up. JW's are always so busy finding new "sheep" that they forget the ones they already have in "the flock" who, metaphorically speaking, need food, water and shelter. My complete support in whatever you decide to do, stay or leave. Miss 8572.

"Isn't this the revised phrase uttered by "The Knights Who (Used To) Say 'Ni!' " ?" HAHA! Oh how I do love Monty Python. "Say no more. Say no more. Could be. could be. A wink is as good as a nudge to a blind eye."

Anyone Else from Canada?
by Miss 8572 ini'm really intrigued by that fact that i may know some of you and yet not know that i know you.
i just want to know how many people from canada are here.
if you don't mind and don't care about posting your province (cause i'm too timid to) we could all get an idea of just how many canucks are really out there.

We all feel the pain of the WT, now what will we do about it?
by dawg ini just wanted to make one simple statement... i've heard many say that they can't get out of this bull, they just faded so they wouldn't have to deal with all the issues that are sure to arise if they use confrontation.
many have said they can't stand to lose family members and the like and that's why they've chasen to fade rather then speak out.
here's what i've lost becasue i've chosen to tell the truth about the bastards.

I'm really sorry to hear that you lost your family. I think it's the saddest thing when that happens because nothing should be more important than family. I honestly hope one day your family comes to realize that. I am quite the little protester, just like yourself, so I SOOOOO know where you ar comming from! Haha... I can't help but comment that spitting in these peoples faces is probably not going to be the most productive. Lol. This is not so much directed at you but rather all the members of the JWD community and something I've been pondering for a while... The WBTS expects hatred, anger and flippancy from apostates. I think that it's really great that there are people out there (like you and me) that really want to see that something is done. However, there are some who can be so engulfed by their rage and concerned with revenge that they miss the whole point. I see it on this board sometimes. [Just a thought: Maybe we should limit people to one rant per week. Haha. Of course I'm just kidding. Nobody start a backlash... I'm defintely a purveyor of FREEDOM OF SPEECH!] But... this discussion board, and consequently our fight, is not about a petty personal vendetta against elders in our respective congregation or the WBTS in general. It's about standing up for those who's rights and freedoms are being violated. In my mind: Positivity is key here. There are certain ways that a cult works and remember when you were in these peoples position? Would you not have acted the same? You can't be angry at a mentally disabled person for not understanding calculus... and you can't be angry at Jehovah's Witnesses. They just don't see it and it's the cult mentality that keeps them blind. We have to be pro-active but not THIER defenition of apostate. Who's with us?

Thanks for your comments. I definately already have hobbies. I'm creative and imaginative and have my hand in every pot. That is probably why I am taking this as well as I am to date. I am already enrolled in post secondary education and am developing friends there. I just need to know how to react around people who still view me as a witness. I don't want to hurt them but I don't want to lie.

If any of you have read my first post you know where I am right now... just a re-cap. I really hate alot of what my witness friends think and do and say and I'm on my way out. My best friend who I went everywhere with disassociated me. We both hang out with the same people and I don't know who she has told about my situation. People I know (that probably don't know my best friend and I have stopped hanging out) are being friendly still. I don't know how to act around them. Right now I'm just riding the tides, acting like everything is normal but... what do I do if and when I see them? I'm a little affraid of the awkwardness. All I can do right now is try and determine who knows and who doesn't. There are some friends I really enjoy talking to but being myself, against all odds, has always been very important to me and I don't want to live a lie. HELP! I need ssuggestions.

We need a secret hand signal!
by Miss 8572 indo you still go to the assembly just to laugh quietly inside?
wouldn't it be great for those of us that do still go to the assemblies and meetings, etc.
to have a secret signal that lets us know who we are?

The dog eared corner on the lappel... That's a terrific idea! Too bad I'm not in the States. Even if I was... I usually forget my badge at home (subconciously?)

Has anyone ever played with a ouija board?
by delilah inthis past weekend, we met a new couple in our campground, and the conversation soon came 'round to the supernatural.
the lady said she has had quite a few supernatural experiences, and that she plays her own home-made version of the ouija board.
my husband was all excited and begged her to play .

I have never ever had a paranormal experience in my life. It's not that i don't get out much... it just hasn't ever happened so i'm really biased about all this. I've heard a dozen stories about demons from witnesses who used to be "plagued" by demons and one of my friends was so scared she would even shiver and coil into the fetal position at the word 'demon' (which was alot of fun on thunderstormy and dark nights when I'd whisper it menacingly) but realistically... It's one of those unexplained things. Lightning used to be unexplainabe to the Greek philosophers and becuase we don't knw what causes this we atribute it to demons. But then again... I have no experience with any of it so I'm probably wrong. Where do you buy an Ouija Board? Ha ha. JJ.
